Pavillon Le Corbusier
Overview
Intro
Public Museum on Lake Zurich
The Pavillon Le Corbusier on Lake Zurich is considered an architectural jewel.
Completed in 1967, it is the last building designed by the great architect and
his only building made of steel and glass. After extensive renovation, the building
is shining with new splendor and offers a unique architectural promenade
over several floors. With his colorful house, Le Corbusier realized his vision of
a synthesis of architecture, art, and life, and created an ideal exhibition pavilion
based on his famous Modulor measuring system. The building was initiated at
the time by the art patron and mediator Heidi Weber and is now run as a public
museum by the Museum für Gestaltung Zürich on behalf of the City of Zurich.
The exhibition pavilion is open from May to November. Due to low capacity, admission to the exhibition pavilion is limited. For groups of 10 or more persons, booking is required. The pavilion provides limited wheelchair-access. Prams are not permitted.
