In the first stage, the life cycle of a drop of water. This journey spans five continents and explores their most important fresh water ecosystems as well as their flora and fauna. By adopting this unusual approach, AQUATIS aims to highlight the importance of fresh water by putting it at the centre of everything. Naturally, water determines the flow and pace of every visit.
The first floor is dedicated to Europe, especially the Rhone, from Valais to its mouth on the Mediterranean Sea. Another floor shows the rivers and lakes in Africa, Asia and the tropical regions of the Amazon.

Live animals are impressively staged with a totally immersive and interactive scenography using innovative digital technologies. AQUATIS is also a recreation area, an environmental education centre and a platform for exchanges.
