Intro
The Style Sapin or fir tree style of the Art Nouveau movement was born in La Chaux-de-Fonds.
The "Art Nouveau chaux-de-fonnier", influenced by the nature of the Jura, is reflected in ironwork, stained glass windows and, primarily, stairwells.
Using the free brochure available at the tourist information office, visitors can scour the streets of the city in search of visible or hidden Art Nouveau treasures. Guided tours on request.
