A castle museum that captivates with its classic architecture, seemingly endless suites and beautiful French style park.

Permanent exhibitions are of great interest and certainly worth a visit. In particular, the new “Noblesse oblige!” - depicting castle life in the 18th century, historic use of the castle gardens - the largest of their kind in Switzerland - and a wealth of at the information center that’s open year-round.

A romantic park and the largest historic vegetable garden in Switzerland also form a part of the Château de Prangins.

On the estate of Baron Guiguer

The historic educational trail between Prangins Castle and the La Lignière Estate is signposted with distinctive blue and whitestripes and comprises ten stations. It tells the story of the barony up to the present day, the area’s rich cultural heritage and provides some interesting links between today and times past. The trail leads you through the municipalities of Prangins and Gland, thereby following in the footsteps of Baron Louis-François Guiguer (1741–1786). He was out and about in his barony almost every day to keep an eye on his estate and take care of business. He did this in the company of his estate manager, his wife, his friends and sometimes his son. In the 18th century, the barony was one of the most extensive estates in Vaud and encompassed the villages of Prangins, Gland and Vich, among others.
