Experience cheese-making on the Schlacht Alp
Overview
Intro
The Schlacht Alp, at the foot of the Brienzer Rothorn, is one of the most beautiful Alpine cheese dairies in the biosphere.
You can take the cable car and hike to get to “work”. With the help of the Alpine farmers, you’ll heat around 100 litres of milk, add the rennet, a little later you’ll break up the cheese curd, and finally you’ll lift the cheese out of the vat.
What do you return home with? Rich in impressions as well as with 10kg of Schlacht Alpine cheese – this will, however, first rest on the Alp for another three months.
