The Ammler Creche
Overview
Intro
All year around, the church's caretaker, Beat Gmür, and the sextant Erich Sax are afoot and afield in the Ammler mountains to find the material for the enormous landscape of creches.
Unique creche figurines about 90 cm high were created by South Tirolean carvers from St. Ulrich as per the instructions of Rev. Victor Buner and church caretaker Beat Gmür. The figurines were carved by hand from stone pine-wood and covered with genuine gold. The entire Ammler Creche consists of the holy family, the three Magi, the Angel of Annunciation, two shepards, a shepardess with a boy, an ox and donkeys as well as sheep, goats and a kid.
