Description
This is Lake Cauma
Lake Cauma is located in the Flims region in the canton of Graubünden and is considered one of the most beautiful mountain lakes in Switzerland. Its intense turquoise green colour and idyllic surroundings make it a popular destination for nature and water lovers.
Discover Lake Cauma
Enjoy a relaxing day on the sandy beach or rent a rowboat to explore the small island in the middle of the lake. A walk along the shore will take you to breathtaking vantage points. And for those who like it more active, a hike to the “Il Spir” viewing platform offers a view of the spectacular Rhine Gorge from above.
The water miracle of Flims
Lake Cauma is fed by underground springs, which make its colour shimmer from turquoise to emerald green, depending on the incidence of light. Its water level fluctuates seasonally and is directly connected to the underground water system of the Flims mountains – a unique natural phenomenon.
Swimming with a view of the Alps
With water temperatures of up to 24 degrees, Lake Cauma is one of the warmest mountain lakes in Switzerland. A bathing platform, a diving tower and the lido with restaurant ensure the perfect summer experience. If you are looking for peace and quiet, you will find secluded spots for a picnic in the middle of nature along the shore.
Around Lake Cauma
Flims offers countless hiking trails, including the famous panoramic trail to the Rhine Gorge (Swiss Grand Canyon). Lake Cresta, another idyllic mountain lake, is also just a short hike away. With over 330 kilometres of trails, Flims is a mountain bike paradise, including the Runca Trail, one of the longest flow trails in Switzerland. The Ami Sabi summer and winter magic, adventure playgrounds and child-friendly hiking trails offer fun for families and the little ones.
