At the Pestalozzi Children’s Village you will experience an excursion of a special kind. You and your group start with a guided tour in the visitor centre, followed by a tour of the children’s village. You can round off the event as a full-day excursion with the game “Riskopoly”. In addition to ecological issues, we raise awareness of social sustainability.
Immerse yourself in the wide world of the Pestalozzi Children’s Village in idyllic Trogen (AR). At this unique group event, you will discover the history of the foundation as well as its commitment to intercultural and peace-building exchange in Switzerland and access to quality education in 12 countries worldwide. Historical children’s village and modern meeting centre The experience begins with a guided tour of the visitor centre. Explore the origins of the ZEWO-certified foundation in our interactive exhibition. How did the Pestalozzi Children’s Village come into being after the Second World War and what does the place mean for young people today? Get to know the visionary founding idea and today’s work. Village tour A tour of the children’s village will give you an insight into holistic sustainability. You will get inspiration in the fields of architecture, catering, energy and peaceful coexistence. Let yourself be inspired! Climate-friendly delicacies If you wish, you and your group can enjoy lunch from your own kitchen, prepared with foodwaste products, among other things. Cooperation with the “Schweizer Tafel” organisation guarantees the responsible handling of food. Sharpening the sense of social justice Would you like a full-day excursion? A game of “Riskopoly” rounds off the day as a crowning finale. This cooperative game shows the opportunities for global justice, strengthens team spirit and sharpens sensitivity to justice issues. The Pestalozzi Children’s Village The Pestalozzi Children’s Village is located high above Lake Constance, surrounded by the rolling hills of the Appenzell region. The village is located 20 minutes from St. Gallen, far from any hustle and bustle, in the countryside and easy to reach by Appenzell railway. Experience the tradition and cosmopolitanism of the children’s village at first hand. A surprising experience that you’ll never forget.
