The Alpine Flower Trail on the Betelberg
Overview
Intro
On the guided tours of the Alpine Flower Trail on the Betelberg, alpine flower ranger Margrit Dubi reveals exciting and unusual facts about the fascinating world of alpine flora on the mountain. She effortlessly and humorously packs all kinds of topics – such as root systems, pollinators, mythology and the effects of alpine herbs – into exciting stories.
On the Alpine Flower Trail on the Betelberg, no plants are sown or planted. Mother Nature is the gardener here!
The area around Leiterli is one of the greenest and most colourful alps in Switzerland. There are over 300 different species of flowers, conifers, grasses, lichens and mosses waiting to be discovered. Flower ranger Margrit Dubi looks after the 1.6km-long Alpine Flower Trail with a great deal of passion from June to October. She follows the course of nature and always places the plant signs where the most beautiful flowering plants can be found at that moment. With a diploma in herbology, she is optimally equipped for this task, which offers up a real contrast against her office job as a financial planner. At the same time, she manages to bring her visitors that bit closer to the fascinating world of the Alpine Flower Trail, in an uninhibited way that is peppered with humour.General information
