Introducción

Rapperswil-Jona is known as the City of Roses. There are two red roses on its coat of arms. During this visit to the Old Town you will visit all four rose gardens. You will find out everything that you wanted to know about the City of Roses Rapperswil-Jona, the rose gardens and the roses.

This tour takes visitors round many of the town’s rose gardens. One is the fragrant rose garden in the town’s centre: more than 1,500 varieties of rose with 75 different scents can be found in bloom here. Some smell of honey, others of pear or lime. Their names can be found on small signs, both in print and in braille.

Two red roses adorn the Rapperswil coat of arms. Rapperswil has earned its name as the town of roses from the 24,000 plants that bloom in four rose gardens as well as other flowerbeds between May and October.
