Introducción
A hunt for some special Basel treasures awaits you. Equipped with a city map, a list of assignments and a Polaroid camera, you’ll get to experience a side of Basel that only a few know about. On the “Street Art” city treasure hunt, you’ll find street art that is sometimes pretty well hidden, solve tricky puzzles and find your way to the goal together with your group.
Urban art has become an integral part of the art scene in recent years and is now an indispensable element of urban tourism in major cultural metropolitan centres. This is also true of Basel. By the 1980s, the city had already become a graffiti hotspot in Switzerland. Much has happened since then. Urban art has established itself as a recognised art movement in its own right, and street artists are legally allowed to express themselves in various locations around the city.
As part of the “Street Art” city treasure hunt, participants independently explore the artworks of well-known and lesser-known street artists. After a short introduction, participants set off in groups of at least 12 people, equipped with a city map, a list of assignments and a Polaroid camera. As they embark on the “Street Art” city treasure hunt, they get to experience a side of Basel that only a few know about. The groups will find street art that is sometimes pretty well hidden, solve tricky puzzles and make their way to the goal together.Información general
