With the nearby Giessbach Falls thundering downward over fourteen rocky ledges, this historic hotel residence is one of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring sites in Switzerland. back in 1872, the architect Davinet was commissioned to build a boldly-designed hotel complex on Lake Brienz, right next to the world-famous Giessbach Falls. Our guests are still just as enchanted by the spacious elegance and timeless charm of the beautifully maintained rooms as they were over one hundred years ago. Each of the 70 stylish rooms, tower rooms and suites are individually designed and furnished, and overlook the waterfall, lake or forest. Taking the oldest funicular railway in Europe, you will reach the hotel’s private mooring stage where you can explore the villages and destinations around Lake Brienz by steamboat. Swiss Historic Hotel

El hotel histórico del año 2004 El impresionante palacio hotelero fue construido entre 1873 y 1875 según los planos del arquitecto Horace Edouard Davinet de Berna. El hotel-balneario que florecía hasta la Primera Guerra Mundial fue sometido a una reforma constructiva después de un incendio grande en 1883. Cuando debía ser demolido después de una ruina experimentada durante largos años, fue adquirido en 1983 por una fundación constituida por Franz Weber y restaurado en etapas hasta 1988. Se halla en una ubicación singular, tanto en cuanto al paisaje alrededor con salto de agua, montañas y lago como también con respecto a la integración constructiva con acceso a un embarcadero privado y un funicular terrestre. La sustancia original con unas fachadas extensamente decoradas del historismo y grandes salones sociales con interiores de la época neo-barroca fue sometida a una restauración extensa, mientras que el mobiliario existente fue completado con donaciones. Gracias a una campaña de marketing que pone la mira en el valor de este bien inmueble salvado como importante monumento histórico, el Giessbach se convierte en un objeto de referencia en materia de hotel histórico.
