20世紀初頭に自然回帰をめざした自由思想家やナチュラリストなどが理想郷として集まり、ベジタリアンやヌーディズムや神智主義などの運動の聖地となったアスコーナの「モンテ・ヴェリータ （真実の山）Monte Verità」に、美術蒐集家でパトロンだったハイド男爵が文化的拠点としてつくった建物がホテルになっています。 モンテ・ヴェリータの中心にあるバウハウス様式のホテルは、約100年前にユートピアを求めてこの地に定住した人々が活動拠点とした時代の雰囲気が随所に感じられます。現在でもナチュラリストやベジタリアンたちの交流の場となっています。2008年に大規模な改修工事をおこないました。地中海料理がおいしいレストランの美しいダイニングルームや絶景がのぞめるテラス席も人気です。
