Intro

The Jungfrau Region – unique. diverse.
A simple slogan. But does the Jungfrau Region live up to its promise?
The many business clients who visit this region in the Bernese Alps year after year to enjoy the breathtaking nature here while also organising workshops, seminars, conferences and club and company outings would certainly say that it does.

Description

Direct trains from Zurich and Basel take you to Interlaken Ost, where you can then journey on to the five holiday resorts in the Jungfrau Region: Grindelwald, Mürren, Lauterbrunnen, Wengen and the Haslital. The Jungfrau Region is also easily accessible by train for international visitors: Interlaken Ost is the terminus of the Frankfurt-Braunschweig-Berlin ICE line and the Karlsruhe-Mainz-Cologne-Düsseldorf-Amsterdam EC route.

Added Value

With the digital guest card, you can make the most of numerous discounts in the Jungfrau Region. This will be issued to you by your host when you stay for even as little as one night. More informationat: registration-jungfrauregion.swiss

Sustainability

Generating electricity with the sun, water and wood
Hydropower company Kraftwerke Oberhasli AG produces electricity on a large scale with its 13 hydroelectric power plants and eight reservoirs, while Holzwärme Grindelwald generates energy from wood. However, many railways, hotels and experience providers also produce energy from natural resources.

An ecosystem worth protecting
Swiss Alps Jungfrau-Aletsch is a World Heritage site – an accolade that also brings with it certain responsibilities. Each year, the “Cultural Landscape Award” recognises – and promotes – particularly valuable landscapes.

Environmentally conscious railways
More rail, less road. The Jungfrau Region boasts excellent public transport connections – even from abroad. Many railways operate additional sustainable measures. Indeed, two of the region’s most beautiful villages – Mürren and Wengen – are actually car-free.

Made in the Jungfrau Region
Vegetables, fruit, meat, dairy products, honey, tea, beer, clothes, souvenirs and much more: those who produce and buy local products are making a significant contribution to sustainability.

Swisstainable: a label with obligations
As a tourism organisation, we are setting a good example and supporting Switzerland Tourism’s Swisstainable sustainability programme. We have already applied and received Level 1 certification. Jungfrau Region Tourismus AG is thus committed to sustainable corporate management and is continuously developing its business to increase sustainability.
