With the nearby Giessbach Falls thundering downward over fourteen rocky ledges, this historic hotel residence is one of the most beautiful and awe-inspiring sites in Switzerland. back in 1872, the architect Davinet was commissioned to build a boldly-designed hotel complex on Lake Brienz, right next to the world-famous Giessbach Falls. Our guests are still just as enchanted by the spacious elegance and timeless charm of the beautifully maintained rooms as they were over one hundred years ago. Each of the 70 stylish rooms, tower rooms and suites are individually designed and furnished, and overlook the waterfall, lake or forest. Taking the oldest funicular railway in Europe, you will reach the hotel’s private mooring stage where you can explore the villages and destinations around Lake Brienz by steamboat. Culinary indulgence awaits you at the Les Cascades park restaurant with wonderful views of the waterfall.

Historic hotel of the year 2004 Imponujący hotel pałacowy został zbudowany w latach 1873 – 1875 według planów berneńskiego architekta Horacea Edouarda Davineta. Swój obecny wygląd zawdzięcza renowacji po wielkim pożarze w 1883 r. Hotel był dobrze prosperującym ośrodkiem wellness, aż do I wojny światowej. Następnie zaczął się długi upadek, aż w końcu stanął w obliczu rozbiórki. W 1983 r., fundacja Franza Webera kupiła hotel , a liczne prace remontowe trwały do 1988 r. i przywróciły obiektowi dawny blask. Położenie hotelu jest absolutnie wyjątkowe – z wodospadem, górami i jeziorem w tle. Wyjątkowa jest także strukturalna integracja w środowisko, z prywatną przystanią i kolejką linowo-szynową. Oryginalny budynek został niezwykle odnowiony. Z barwnie odrestaurowanymi, historycznymi fasadami i bogatymi, barokowymi wnętrzami sal do użytku publicznego. Dzięki dotacjom, udało się przeprowadzić renowację mebli, a dzięki staraniom marketingowym podkreślającym monumentalną jakość posiadłości, która zachowała swój niesamowity styl, Hotel Giessbach stał się obiektem nawiązującym do kwestii dotyczącej hoteli historycznych w Szwajcarii.
