This 4-star boutique hotel lies at the heart of the traffic-free old town and was newly opened in 2015. In addition to 39 individual design rooms and suites, further features include a hotel-own library, exquisite Restaurant Balthos and bar and Delish-Take-Out. Culinary wise, focus is on a cosmopolitan cuisine, naturally including vegan dishes. Free use of the Hamam-Wellness-Center within walking distance.
The building was first mentioned in writing in 1291 and since then has become an absolute icon on Zurich’s urban landscape. The hotel is a member of the Historic Hotels of Europe and is overflowing with culture and history. Nevertheless, all the rooms meet the modern-day high standards and are individually designed.
From arrival to departure, here the guest is king: whether enjoying an aperitif or a meal in the hotel’s in-house Igniv Restaurant – a culinary masterpiece by Michelin-starred chef Andreas Caminada – or browsing through the hotel’s historic library, quality is to be found in every nook and cranny at the Marktgasse.
